Acquisition[edit]
- Prophecies
- Abaddon's Cursed (Perdition Rock) (requires a party member to be carrying a Proof of Triumph)
Note that as a PvE-only skill, Elite Skill Tomes cannot be used to learn this skill.
Notes[edit]
- This is a core skill, but Guild Wars Prophecies is required to obtain the skill.
- Usually combined with Dark Aura for AoE armor-ignoring damage.
- Live Vicariously can help offset the health loss of Dark Aura.
- The health sacrifice occurs for each hit rather than for each attack, so skills such as Cyclone Axe or Whirlwind Attack can trigger the health sacrifice multiple times, while skills such as Vigorous Spirit will trigger once.
- Blood Bond can help offset the health sacrifice.
- This can lead to a spike when combined with Dark Aura.
- The health sacrifice occurs even if the attack misses or is blocked.
- The concise description is correct: the damage is armor-ignoring bonus damage.
Anomaly. The health sacrifice does not appear on the damage monitor.
Trivia[edit]
- This is the only ability that sacrifices a flat amount of health.
- This skill uses the same icon as the Guild Wars 2 Necromancer skill Dark Path.
- Added to the game with the 22nd April 2020 update as part of the 15th Anniversary Celebration.
- Prior to the 30th April 2020 patch, life sacrifice also triggered if the attack missed or failed, leading to Dark Aura triggering twice on Dual attacks out of sequence.
- The functionality of this skill has changed since its introduction; see its skill revision history for details.
